Wow 2018 Is Upon Us!
God has given us a new year. 365 days! Will we use them to glorify God? Will we use them to serve God with our heart, mind and soul? We will use them to spread the Good News? We will use them to take care of the less fortunate?
Everyday we are faced with opportunities to help other people. Everyday we have the opportunity to invite someone to church. Everyday we have the opportunity to pray, read Scripture, mediate on Scripture, study Scripture and get closer to God.
The demands of the world often squash these but we have a brand new year to work on them.
There is nothing more important that we can do than have a great relationship with God for that relationship lasts for all eternity. I truly believe when we put God first everything else will fall into place.
I am not saying we escape hardships and heart aches but all the major things with family, friends, work, volunteerism and leisure will be all more glorious when we make God the top priority in our life. Putting God first gives us a profound sense of gratefulness. When you think of all that God has given us and all that G
od continues to give us, it is truly amazing. Putting God first, teaches us to love. God loved us so much that he gave us his only Son. Jesus loved us so much that he was willing to die for us to cover all the sins of humanity. There is no greater sacrifice than to give your life for the life of someone else. Putting God first teaches us how to serve. When you are a servant you put other’s needs before your own needs. You give of your time, your talent, your money, your resources to make other people’s lives better. Whoever wants to be known as the greatest must be willing to be the servant of all. These are just a few of the reasons of why you should put God first in your life.
Have a wonderful new year! May you grow closer to God and be a blessing to those around you by showing Christ’s love!
