Who is Jesus Christ to you and why is He important to you?
- Jesus is a friend and counselor to me. I know I can trust Him and turn to Him whenever I need Him. He is always there for all of us.
- God designed the system and wrote the directions for existing in the system. People didn’t quite get the point and thought they were calling the shots. Jesus showed us how it all works and encouraged us to live the life God intended for us.
- Jesus is my friend in that He’s my confidante and Savior. He’s pulled me thought more times than I will ever know.!
Why do you follow Jesus’ teachings?
- Simply, because I know it makes me a better person. And I think at the heart of it, we all want to be the best person we can be in this life.
- It’s the one reliable guide. He proved he was THE teacher, a teacher who cares more than we can imagine.
- The teachings are a foundation, my strength and peace.
- It’s the only way, even thought I fall short too many times!
When do you turn to Jesus the most?
- Like just about everyone else, I probably turn to Him most when I am in need or am having a crisis. It is very comforting to me to know He is always there for me, and is in charge of every situation that comes my way.
- When the tough answers aren’t already obvious and when there’s something to celebrate, even everyday blessings.
- At all times. In happiness and strife, to give thanks, ask for forgiveness, strength, comfort and peace; for myself and others.
- I’m always talking to Him – with requests and concerns, and definitely thanks!
What is your favorite scripture reading in the New Testament?
- My grace is sufficient for your every need.
- Psalm 23:”The Lord is my Shepherd” (This is not New testament, I know, but it’s still my favorite!)
Why would you encourage someone to follow Christ’s teachings?
- The peace that knowing you are trying every day to do the right things, whether it be as parent, a spouse or a friend to someone is very gratifying. And without Him, we would be like a ship without a rudder. We can trust Him and know He will never steer us in the wrong direction.
- It’s comforting to know He’s with us all the time.
- It’s something that will bring an inner peace that you cannot buy at a store and it’s something you will never regret.
- Because I know how they’ve helped me, and there really is no other way!
Why would you encourage someone to believe in the Lord?
- Jesus came to tell us what God is about. It doesn’t matter what we call Him, but even with no name at all, He’s there. Belief may appear and disappear for someone, and I can’t control that. But I can try to show what it’s like to be a Christian, without scaring them away with too strong an approach.
- I can give so many examples of when my faith was the major player in my life that day!
How often do you run to the Lord during the day?
- I take this verse pretty seriously, which is found in Philippians 4:6; “Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.” I pray in bits and peeves all day, every day.
- Uncountable. He can’t be turned on and off.
- At all times. In happiness and strife, to give thanks, ask for forgiveness, strength, comfort and peace; for myself and others.
- I start and end the day with prayer and reading Bible verses and daily devotions. During the day, there are prayer for whatever the need be and again, quiet often, just a thank you for what’s at hand.
How often does your faith in Jesus come up during the day?
- Frequently. When I hear sirens, I pray for the laws enforcement or fist responders who are called to serve. I pray for my kids when I am exercising, I listen to Refuge radio on 89.9 to fill my mind with positive thoughts and praise. I am a cleaning lady, an when I am in people’s homes, I sometimes pray for them and their children. As I get older, my reliance on Him grows every day.
- Same as number 7. It’s just always there.
- Constantly.
- Each day is different, but here are always a number of time in any given day.
How often do you reach out to Him; and say a prayer for His guidance?
- Again, same as number 7. Not only for guidance, usually for thanks.
- So often I cannot count; as I walk, while outside, in the library, at dinner, with family, as we go to bed, etc.
- Every day!
Where in your day does Jesus help you most often?
- Probably when I am waking, and not wanting to leave the comfort of my bed. My mind instantly turns to what I have on the calendar for the day, which can sometimes be a little daunting. But I pray for peace, courage and the strength to follow thought on all my responsibilities.
- During pain and during decision making and when I’m happy.
- Whenever I ask Him and believe that He heard my prayers.
Where in your day does Jesus help you help other in need?
- In spontaneous situation, I ask Him, “Will my attempt to help be truly helpful or will I perceived as a nosy person?” In all other situations, if it is helpful, I help. Sometimes, my duties and responsibilities start feeling more burdensome, That’s when I try to step back and thank God for the opportunity to serve.
- Remember to show kindness and go an extra mile for encouragement.
- He guides me in my teaching, in how I work with students and colleagues.
- When I see that there is a need, and He opens my eyes and heart to act on it.
